Dr. Katie Psychology
LICENSED PSYCHOLOGIST
Areas of Specialization
You deserve care from a clinician who is experienced and attuned to your specific concerns. Below are the areas I specialize in. I work with adults (18+) via secure telehealth.

Food & Body Concerns
Health at Every Size® (HAES)-Aligned | Fat-Positive | Weight-Neutral
I specialize in treating a wide range of concerns related to food, body image, and disordered eating. Whether you're struggling with binge eating, chronic dieting, body dissatisfaction, anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, or binge eating disorder, I provide a safe and compassionate space for healing. I also offer support for parents and partners of individuals experiencing eating disorders.
As a weight-neutral, fat-positive clinician, I do not offer support for intentional weight loss goals. My work aligns with the Health at Every Size® approach, which emphasizes well-being over weight and honors body diversity.
Trauma & Stressful Life Experiences
Creating Safety | Trauma-Informed Care
Safety is the foundation of healing. If you’ve experienced emotional or physical harm—whether from abuse, loss, or other difficult life events—I’m here to help you process and move forward. I work with:
-
PTSD and Complex PTSD
-
Emotional, physical, spiritual, religious, or sexual abuse
-
Long-term effects of traumatic or invalidating experiences
My goal is to help you rebuild a sense of safety, self-trust, and inner calm.
Depression
Support for Deep Sadness
Sadness is a natural human emotion—but when it becomes persistent, heavy, or hopeless, it’s time for support. I work with individuals navigating:
-
Major depressive disorder
-
Chronic feelings of shame
-
Pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD)
You deserve a life that feels meaningful and connected, even when things feel dark.
Anxiety
When Fear Takes the Wheel
Anxiety and fear are part of our survival system—but sometimes that system becomes overactive and overwhelming. I help clients understand and calm these responses so they can regain a sense of ease and agency. I work with:
-
Generalized anxiety
-
Social anxiety and phobias
-
Panic attacks
-
Health anxiety
-
Select presentations of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
We’ll work together to help you understand what your anxiety is trying to tell you—and how to respond in ways that support your growth.
Relationship Concerns
Boundaries | Communication | Self-Worth in Connection
Our relationships—whether romantic, familial, or platonic—play a central role in our emotional well-being. But they can also be sources of deep pain, confusion, or anxiety. I help clients explore relationship patterns, improve communication, and build more secure, meaningful connections with others and with themselves.
You might be:
-
Struggling with people-pleasing or difficulty setting boundaries
-
Caught in repeated relational patterns that leave you feeling unseen or unfulfilled
-
Processing a breakup, betrayal, or loss of connection
-
Trying to strengthen a current relationship while also healing old wounds
Together, we’ll untangle what's no longer serving you and build relationships rooted in mutual respect, authenticity, and care.
Life Transitions
Change | Identity | Rewriting Your Narrative
Life transitions—whether chosen or unexpected—can leave us feeling disoriented, uncertain, or overwhelmed. Even positive changes can bring up grief, anxiety, or questions about identity. I provide support during these in-between moments, helping you make sense of where you are and envision where you want to go.
Common transitions I work with include:
-
Graduating from college or graduate school
-
Career changes or professional burnout
-
Moving to a new place or adjusting to a new phase of life
-
Shifts in identity, values, or long-held goals
-
Entering or exiting relationships, including marriage or divorce
Together, we’ll process what you’re leaving behind, clarify what matters to you now, and help you step into the next chapter with confidence and self-compassion.
Self-Esteem
Reclaiming Your Worth | Moving Beyond Shame
Struggles with self-esteem can show up in subtle and not-so-subtle ways—perfectionism, people-pleasing, harsh self-criticism, or feeling like you’re “never enough.” If you carry a persistent sense of not measuring up, I want you to know: you are not alone, and you don’t have to keep living under the weight of that story.
I help clients explore the roots of low self-worth and develop a more grounded, compassionate relationship with themselves.
You might be:
-
Constantly comparing yourself to others
-
Struggling with internalized shame or self-judgment
-
Feeling like you need external validation to feel okay
-
Having difficulty making decisions, asserting needs, or trusting yourself
In therapy, we’ll work to untangle the beliefs that keep you stuck and build a foundation of self-worth that isn’t dependent on performance, appearance, or approval. You deserve to feel at home in who you are.
